Michigan Morels has always been a free site. But increased popularity
resulted in a dramatic increase of hosting space and bandwidth required.
The costs of providing this site has continued to increase to the point
where Debbie and I can no longer afford it on our own.
Some of the services we've used were free services or programs.
While this kept costs down for awhile, it eventually created problems.
Most of these "free" programs, use too much resource of
the server. So in order to continue to keep and improve our site,
we are now having to "purchase" programs that are more efficient,
and pay a much more costly hosting plan.
My time involved isn't a problem because Debbie and I enjoy communicating
with all of you. I know some sites charge membership fees, and we thought
of doing this ourselves, but we would rather keep it as free as possible.
Perhaps in the future we may provide a paid member only area, but
only if we have to.
Lets try this first... Just give whatever amount you feel this site
is worth to you!
What is it worth, having your questions answered honestly, and
quickly on the message board?
And have you ever seen a more friendly morel message board?
What's it worth, having reliable hunting reports from all over
Michigan, so you can better plan your trips?
A lot of folks have been with us for a long time now, and we appreciate
that loyalty very much. It's great people like you, that makes Michigan
morels a great place to be!
All I did, is to provide a nice quiet place for you to meet others, talk
and learn about mushrooms.
So if you would like to send a gift to keep this site online, you can
do so through PayPal using your checking or credit card or by mailing
a check or money order.
Any amount you send will help! If you are unable to give anything, that
is okay too. It's still free for you and we still want to visit with you
on our morel board.
Thank you so very much!
Your friends, Frank and Debbie
